Productivity

High mental activity may correlate to heightened ability to handle multiple jobs. If all the energy of bipolar disorder patients is channeled effectively, they may find themselves taking up multiple times more responsibilities than the average adult’s, and symptoms of their illness (esp. pertaining to mood swings and irregular sleep hours) could wane, if not disappear altogether.

It’s not a matter of whether one likes to take on those responsibilities or not (though adequate incentives or rationale should be present). If one were to always weigh on their preferences before taking action, the energies would not go anywhere, impeding growth and healing.

This is not to say that any kind of productivity could lead to healing. The general advice is to work enough to bring job satisfaction, while be open to explore different options.
