Paradox
For most physical illnesses, patients typically long for total recovery unless repeated diagnoses suggest that permanent damage has already taken place. In the case of bipolar disorder, however, the average willingness to recover entirely might not be as strong as generally expected.
Theoretically speaking, the psychological changes associated with bipolar disorder are less resulting from physical changes than they are from spiritual conflict. Given the non-physical nature of its root cause*, it should be more flexible to cure than physical abnormalities. At least, so it should be.
Paradoxically, the patient might not wish to dissolve the root cause. Reasons could be manifold. Perhaps they intuitively know that the associated contract had been setup for a reason (e.g. a good cause that has yet to be understood).
So the first step is perhaps to ask what one is trying to accomplish through the soul contract. There could be multiple missions associated with it. One may choose to fulfill each one, or cancel them altogether. Seek alternative solutions to resolve spiritual conflicts if bipolar disorder is proven to be too difficult of an approach.
* Brain tissues may alter in the course of the illness via development of new behavioral patterns, medication and other coping mechanisms, but brain networking can be reversed once the underlying (non-physical) cause is removed and the patients rehabilitated.
